Getting Back On Track With Herbalife

I feel like I have been saying this for ages but I have piled on the lbs recently. I just can’t seem to find the motivation to get back in the gym and the combination of work, uni, blogging and the dog, means I am struggling to find the time for anything else. My bullet journal is helping and January being the crappest month ever, I have been trying to at least plan a way to get back to it and Herbalife offered to help.

I have talked about Herbalife before and addressed my thoughts on Herbalife before so, as always, this will be about the products themselves, what they are like and how they work.

I had a long chat with Jordan, one of their personal trainers, who asked lots of questions about my lifestyle and my goals for the future. I told him I didn’t agree with not eating, i.e. juice or shake diets, and that I wanted to up my game in the exercise front. I told him how I struggle with a protein heavy breakfast so often rely on a shake of some sort and that I don’t drink anywhere near enough water. After listening to my whinge for, what felt like forever, he recommended some products and they arrived the next week, ready for me to get cracking with my healthier lifestyle and some serious weight loss.

Instant Herbal Beverage With Tea Extracts

This herbal tea is in powder form so easy to stir into hot water. I told Jordan that I don’t drink hot drinks and he said this tastes just as good if drank when cold. To be honest I actually prefer it hot and I have been enjoying a cup at my desk before my breakfast. It contains caffeine to kickstart the metabolism and gives me an energy boost that I desperately need in the morning.

Protein Drink Mix 

To get a good dose of protein in the morning, I have been mixing the Protein Drink Mix with some berries and greens into a smoothie for breakfast. The vanilla flavour adds a nice bit of sweetness and the gentle creaminess makes it feel that bit more decadent than it actually is. It contains 24 vitamins and minerals as well as a good 15g of protein which really sets me up for the day and helps to get me up to my recommended protein intake for the day.

Protein Bars

I’ve featured the Herbalife Protein Bars a few times as I think they are really good. They are the perfect post afternoon snack to keep me going until the end of the day and taste creamy, without that weird chalky protein aftertaste that so many contain. The chocolate peanut is one of my favourites and they contain 10g of protein each so also set you up for a gym session after work.

Herbal Aloe Concentrate

To help me consume more water each day, Jordan recommended adding the Herbal Aloe Concentrate to a litre bottle of water and try to drink at least 2 a day. It adds a touch of mango flavour but also supports nutrient absorption and intestinal health. It takes away that dull flavour and has seen me reaching for the diet coke less throughout the day. That, let me tell you, is some feat!

Herbalife 24 Products

Once my gym regime was up to speed and I was working out on a regular basis, Jordan recommended adding the Herbalife 24 CR7 Drive to my water. Endorsed by Cristiano Ronaldo, it adds electrolytes to enhance hydration, boost energy and vitamin B12 to support the metabolism. It doesn’t have that sickly sweet taste that most electrolyte drinks have and it certainly encourages me to drink more during a heavy gym session. The Herbalife 24 Formula 1 Sport is a more hard hitting protein supplement with more carbohydrates to keep you going at the gym for longer and to support muscle growth. I have tried this and it tastes really good, creamy and not too sweet, like most of the Herbalife products, but I have not used it for its intended purpose as yet as my gym regime just isn’t there. Once it is though, I’m looking forward to giving it a really good test drive.

I really like these products and a combination of them, alongside a healthy diet the rest of the time, I have seen a real difference in my energy and hydration levels. I am looking forward to shedding this excess weight in time for my trip to New York as the weather is set to be hot, perhaps I’ll don that bikini after all?
