Last month I took the 2 hour train journey down to London with Co Op Food to meet the guys behind Sorted Food, the world’s most engaged YouTube cooking channel. They have teamed up with Co Op Food to help overcome the cooking gap, particularly with millennials. Their cooking videos share the basics whilst branching out with other recipes that you can follow at home from either your computer or phone.
We shared information, helped with their research and they showed us some neat tricks for the simplest things such as poaching an egg and making our own pizzas. I was surprised how rubbish I was at the basics and certainly picked up some simple hacks to make my life easier when back in my own kitchen.
As part of the event and helping to bridge the cooking gap they made the tastiest oatmeal and raisin cookies then sent us on our way with a mission, to make something similar at home.
Now I am pretty rubbish at making cookies. I always panic that online cymbalta when they are still gooey, they are undercooked so by the time they come out they are always too hard. In a bid to try and stick to a healthy diet when not eating out, I decided to up my game and share my oatmeal and raisin protein shake recipe.
150g Porridge Oats
1 tablespoon Raisins
1 scoop Vanilla Protein (I used Herbalife 24 Formula 1 Sport in Vanilla Cream as it isn’t overly sweet but add your favourite)
350ml Almond Milk
Pop all the ingredients, in the order listed works best in my experience, and blend until smooth. Pour into your favourite glass or shaker and top with a dusting of cinnamon for a hint of spice.
I love putting blended shakes in my Promixx if I am going to work or heading to the gym. The vortex technology helps to remix it later so no nasty lumps or layers.
There you have it, a cookie in healthy shake form. Please share your favourite healthy shake recipes below, I am in need of motivation!
