Christmas 2018 At Turtle Bay

The Christmas lights are on, the decorations are starting to go up, it is finally time to stop whispering the ‘C’ word and scream it from the rooftops! Turtle Bay have totally upped their game this festive season with a stonker of a secret cocktail menu.

The secret cocktail menu includes just three drinks, that have been designed by Turtle Bay mixologists from around the country. The first is true to the Jamaican roots of Turtle Bay with my favourite spirit, RUM! The Sleigh Sipper contains Blackwell rum, cacao blanc, triple sec, vanilla syrup, apple juice, lime and sour orange chutney. It reminded me of a rum punch but with a festive kick. It’s an easy drinker that I’ll be ordering each time I visit. The Merry Berry is an interesting twist on the creamy classic. Baileys and Amaretto are joined by blackberry liqueur which softens the heavier creamy liqueurs, turning this into a dessert in a glass. The perfect way to end a meal or the night, if it has been a liquid one. Last is the Three Kings with Sailor Jerrys, falernum, cacao blanc, apple juice, ginger beer, lime and cinnamon. It’s rich and spicy with a heavy hit of cinnamon on the nose and a warming rum taste until the end. It’s delicious, they all are. The menu is available now but you’ll have to ask the bartender for it, it is a secret after all.

You’ll want to line that stomach whilst drinking those beautiful cocktails and I would absolutely recommend a Festive Platter. It’s a great choice for the Christmas do and, at £9 a head, they won’t break the bank either. Garlic and Herb Flatbread, Spicy Fries, Hot Wings and Dumplings are just a few of the delights you can expect to see. It’s a nice change from the standard turkey dinner and a little spice in this cold weather is always welcome! Enjoy a Caribbean Christmas with Turtle Bay.

I was invited to try the cocktails and platters as a guest of Turtle Bay and was not asked to pay. All images are credited to Turtle Bay.
