Beauty Review: Too Faced La Belle Carousel

When I hit my first Sephora store in California I knew I needed the latest Too Faced palette. Thanks to Anoushka I had already read all about Too Faced La Belle Carousel and let out a squeal when I saw it in the San Francisco store.

Housed in a cardboard carousel box with six individual palettes looking out of the plastic windows you will find 12 eyeshadows, 2 blushers, 2 bronzers and a small Better Than Sex mascara. The shades are beautifully named after holidays with Christmas theme names like santa’s boots and yule log. In the box you will also find a ‘look’ card to help you decide which colours to blend for the perfect look.

I’m not usually a fan of these suggested looks cards but I quite like this one and the looks really do work. The palettes are giftable and have ‘to’ and ‘from’ on the back so you can give to friends as a gift, if you are a really good friend that is as I don’t think I’d want to part with any of them! Each of the palettes close with a magnetised strip making them sleek and flat so perfect to pop into your make up bag when travelling. The only downside to this for me is that they don’t stay open so well when you are trying to use more than one at the same time. I also find having five separate palettes a challenge when trying to find the shade I want. This wouldn’t be an issue if all the shades were in one palette but I have to admit this is the prettiest presentation I’ve seen in a long time so I am willing to let it pass.

I’ve had eyelash extensions on since buying this set but I’ve heard nothing but good buy cialis in south africa things about the Better Than Sex mascara and my travel buddy bought the full sized version to try.

The shades are predominantly shimmer and glitter based so they aren’t something I would wear during the day and I’d certainly recommend using a matte shade all over the eyelid before highlighting and contouring with these shades.

Sugar plum fairy is my absolute favourite shade in this set for a dark purple shade with silver glitter. It is perfect for the festive season.

Haute chocolate is also perfect (third shade down here, sorry I had to use flash to get the colours looking true to life and the light has bounced off the name of the shade on the palette) with a metallic chocolate colour and brown glitter. Just beautiful. All the eyeshadow shades are highlighly pigmented, soft and easy to apply with little fallout. They blend perfectly giving you scope to create numerous eye looks.

The bronzer and blusher shades perfectly compliment each other too and are all shimmery so be careful not to apply too much otherwise you’ll end up a shiny mess! I love the gold shimmer effect I get from shades who’s your poppy? and chocolate soleil. This is now a staple of my daily make up look and the mini palette means I can take it wherever I go.

The set is $49 at Sephora and an absolute steal if you ask me. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like this set is available in the UK yet but now you can order online from Sephora it is well worth the shipping costs.

I now have a light box set up so hopefully this is the last post where the pictures are less sharp than I would like them to be!

Have you tried any Too Faced products? Which is your favourite?
