As much as us Mancs love our city, we also like trips away from time to time. SACO, the Serviced Apartment Company who also provide serviced apartments in Manchester, has recently conducted research, which found that Mancs love nothing more than escaping to the Lake District for walks in the hills. I am totally on board with this and have spent many a long weekend in Ambleside, the Lakes is always first when I fancy a drive out somewhere.
The South West is also a favourite of mine and if I could guarantee the weather, I believe there is no finer place to holiday. A third of Mancs agree and more than 70% of adults in Manchester said they their fondest memories, are of holidaying in Britain. I love that I can put the dog in the car and before the end of the day, we are by a beautiful beach looking out to sea, the waves licking around our feet.
A pub lunch in the Cotswolds came second in the list of Mancunians ‘ultimate happy places’ and, with views like this, you can understand why. The rolling countryside and quaint churches are the perfect sight to take in whilst walking off that lunch.
As many of you know, I love a challenge, and there are several things on the list of happy places that I have yet to do. I have never punted on the river Cam, nor have I explored Exmoor. I think Ferguson would enjoy it though and I am looking forward to exploring more our this amazing country with him in tow.
You can see the infographic highlighting their full research below. Is there anything you would add?
