Beauty, MANchester, Relax And Pamper

A Pamper At House Of Evelyn

With Manchester being such a busy and bustling city, it can be difficult finding somewhere to relax. I have been to lots of different salons for treatments but no matter how hard they try, there is no denying that you are in the city. The latest luxury hair and beauty destination, Evelyn, has managed it. Let me show you around.

From the outside, the decadent gold facade doesn’t scream ‘salon’, more a gentle nod with simple displays and sliding glass doors. Once inside, the large windows are gently obscured with displays that let in all the light, yet block out the hustle and bustle of the busy street. The salon itself is vast with shiny marble floors, gold accents, huge chandeliers and beautifully lit mirrors to divide up the space and create privacy. It screams luxury and it won’t be a surprise to learn that it is a new favourite amongst Manchester celebrities and the local footballer’s wives.

The day before flying out to Thailand I visited for a spot of pampering in the form of their luxury manicure and luxury pedicure. I arrived a little flustered having walked through a busy Market Street when the heavens had started to open. Not how you would expect someone to arrive at a luxury salon! I was welcomed with a glass of prosecco, shown to a seat and waited for my appointment whilst perusing the gel colours.

While waiting I was shown around the private treatment room complete with shower and dressing table. It is like the perfect place to get ready for a night out! The shower makes it extra private especially if you are having a scrub or wrap, you can wash away the product with ease and without having to leave the comfort of the room.

My luxury pedicure started at the beautiful raised pedicure station where my feet were soaked, exfoliated, buffed and massaged before the full works on my toe nails and the addition of a pop of colour. My feet have never felt so soft and smooth before, the perfect preparation for my flip flops.

The luxury manicure involved a similar process but for hands and fingernails. It all took place at the nail bar where I was shown a huge selection of colours and glitters to choose from. Going on holiday allowed me to be more daring and I chose a spicy orange shade with matching glitter, to sparkle in the sun after all.

What makes the nail experience here different is the service. I was made to feel totally welcome, nothing was too much trouble, even down to a member of staff going out to get some nail glue as I had broken my nail very far down on one of my nails on the way into the salon. It was all part of the service which the wonderful team here take into their stride.

At no point did I feel rushed, like I was in the city or that anything was too much to ask. A truly luxurious experience and one that I will be repeating as often as I can. The luxury manicure costs £35 and the luxury pedicure £42. The prices are only slightly higher than my regular salon and, for the pure relaxation and service, I think it is totally worth it. I just need to book another flight and I have the perfect excuse for a pamper.

I was invited to Evelyn as a guest and was not asked to pay for my treatments.
