I have been so busy in 2016 already, where has Easter popped up from? It is one of my favourite times of the year – who doesn’t love a four day weekend and enough chocolate to send you into sugar overload! When it comes to chocolate I am fairly easy to please and like most of it but there is a special place in my heart for a really good quality egg. And there is no better time than Easter to spend that little bit more on a really good quality piece, why should the adults miss out?
Cocoa Cabana in West Didsbury have the most beautiful selection this Easter. This smart bunny is one of my favourites although their hand decorated eggs are like works of art. If you can’t get to West Didsbury in time they are selling their Easter range in Selfridges Trafford Centre so there is still time to pick up a gift that is sure to wow even those who aren’t particularly bothered about chocolate.
It’s rare that Hotel Chocolat don’t impress me with their seasonal selections and this year is no different. They’ve mixed things up providing a number of different sized eggs catering for all ages and tastes. My particular favourite are these Scrambled Eggs decorated with swirls of chocolate and containing accompanying pralines. The caramel is my personal favourite but considering they have one of every variety, it will be difficult not to find one for the fussy chocolate eater in your life.
Handmade in Manchester I’m not sure there is a prettier Easter gift than these beauties from In Truffle We Trust. I first met their designer, Jess, when she was working as a pastry chef in Abode, she’s now supplying these incredible creations that are nearly too good to eat, nearly but not quite. They really do taste as good as they look but make sure you get them quick as I can’t see them being around for long! Get yours from Cheshire Smokehouse in Wilmslow. It’ll be worth the trip I promise.
