I always wanted a Swatch watch as a child, their bright and colourful straps with an added element of fun always appealed to me and I was gutted to never receive one in my Christmas stocking. As a grown up I only have a few choice watch pieces with my oldest being the beautiful Gucci watch I received for my 18th birthday, at 34 I still wear it on an almost daily basis.
Not so long ago I have started to acquire more watches and decided to give my trusty Gucci a rest for some different pieces that match my outfit better. It was around that time that I was invited to the opening of the new Swatch store within Manchester Arndale so I was excited to see what the bright and fun brand had to offer the adult market.
The new store is light, bright and colourful with the watches out on display so you can see them in all their glory. I loved the seasonal ranges and there were some fabulous designs to celebrate the Olympics in Rio complete with Brazilian colours and themes. There are flik flaks designed for children (although I would have been happy to wear any of them) and more simple pieces in this seasons must have colours like rose gold and silver.
If I had the space I would have totally snapped up the Cheshire Cat wall clock although the wrist watch, with its big cheesy grin was just as cute. I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and had literally just picked up the Cheshire Cat watch when I saw this beauty.
Perhaps considered a little more grown up is the tweedle dum and tweedle dee watch. Simple colours with a black strap and a simple little red heart on the band at the back, this watch is perfect for every day wear and I don’t think it is too ‘in your face’ cartoon or Alice in Wonderland either.
The watch is splash waterproof with a two year warranty for a bargain price of £66, I love it and have had so many compliments wearing it at work! Make sure you pop in to have a look at their colourful store, I promise you will leave with a smile on your face.
