When it comes to a good BBQ party, the drinks are just as important as the food. Anyone who enjoys cooking knows their favourite recipe to create when the sun comes out to play, but do you know the best drinks to have in ready to enjoy with your burgers?
For me, you cannot beat a glass of prosecco in the sun and this bottle from Premier Estates is my favourite at the moment. It has a slight sweetness so isn’t overly dry as some can be and there is a light floral aftertaste which I love. It is light enough not to interfere with the strong flavours of traditional BBQ food. You can get a case of 6 for just £7.99 bottle too which is a bargain.
Budweiser Budvar actually has nothing to do with a brand of a similar name, but you should definitely consider it a necessity if you like a dark lager. Being a dark lager it is quite heavy but there are bitter notes of chocolate on the palette and roasted coffee on the finish which gives this a little something extra that is well worth sharing with friends. Budweiser Budvar have some great videos on their website to show their passion and what goes into making their drinks, if you a little geeky about booze, like me.
Being an avid cider drinker, I was surprised how much I liked Cranes Cranberry Cider. I am a fruit cider kind of gal but I like them sweet and sweet, this is not. Well not overly anyway. It has a slight bitterness you would expect from a cranberry based drink but the addition of other fruits adds a lightness that works really well with food. To give a bit of background, Cranes was founded by twin brothers who’s joint love of the humble cranberry led them to develop this beaut. I love a brand with a solid story behind them and this is definitely one of them! You can buy it in a mixed case of 12 for £27.60 on their website.
