For me, there is nothing more relaxing than visiting a spa. Getting wrapped up in a fluffy dressing gown, a glass of fizz in hand, before being whizzed away for a massage that invigorates the senses. It is some time since I have found the time to get to one so I have been taking time out and pampering myself in my own home. Here are my current favourite products for squeaky clean, baby soft skin.
Lacura Spa Body Mask – £5.99
Aldi doesn’t scream luxury but I have been really impressed with this body mask and it is the perfect way to start your pamper session. I scoop out a handful of the mask, smooth over my body and wait around 20 minutes for it to set. Once it is dry, jump in a shower and wash it off. The seaweed extract gives it a really fresh scent and it leaves the skin super soft and moisturised.
It is called a masque but this Exuviance wonder product is more of a scrub. A luxurious cream texture, it contains plant based beads to sweep away dead skin cells yet with added vitamin E and shea butter to add an injection of moisture. It has a slight chemical smell but the beads are incredibly powerful leaving the smoothest skin and not a dry patch in sight. It is perfect for before applying fake tan and is a real treat for the skin.
If you are lucky enough to have a partner who can help with a massage, a good oil is needed and this Bannatyne Spa oil is incredibly good. It is light and soaks into the skin well without leaving any stickiness. A generous 200 ml bottle for just £14.99, either talk your partner into a long back massage or run a hot bath, add a couple of drops of the oil to an eggcup full of milk and pour in. Take deep breaths to allow the geranium, rosemary and lavender hit the senses for the ultimate relax. Luxury on a budget!
Exuviance Retexturing Treatment – £32
To finish your pamper session, you’ll need a good lotion and the Exuviance Retexturing Treatment is that, and so much more. 5% glycolic acid and 5% lactobionic acid loosen any leftover dead skin cells to help smooth flaky skin and encourage cell turnover. It is called a lotion but it is more of a gel formula that sinks into the skin easily like a cream. It is perfect for more mature skin and promotes an even skin tone whilst improving the appearance of wrinkled skin. I haven’t got to that point in life yet but I love the smooth results of this product and I am currently using it to prepare my skin for the sun I will be jetted off to next month.
It is so important to take some time out for yourself and you don’t need to spend a fortune to do it. What are your favourite relaxing products?
